Side Projects!

Since there are  only two side projects that the fellows from the Exploding Team are involved in, this won't take up much of your  precious time. They told me to fill the rest of the space up with "lots of pictures and stuff."  The also suggested that  I find some  "nudies" somewhere and put them on here, but  I expressly refuse to do that, I don't care how adamant they are!

Satellite of Love is a Jackson, Tennessee-based progressive, hardcore outfit that is constantly pushing the bounds of what is acceptable in music. They dare to ask,  "Is being able to actually play instruments necessary?"  And  they dare to answer,  "NO!"

"We just felt like taking the time to actually learn how to play our instruments or actually write songs, was just a big waste of time." says lead guitarist John-Michael Perkins. "That time could better be spent playing Mortal Kombat or Mario Kart."

"Oftentimes we'll just throw a couple of songs together a few minutes before we start a gig." says lead singer and song writer, Nick Reynolds. "Whenever we try to make ourselves sit down and write songs, we just get really bored and end up eating a lot of chips."

"I'll let you in on a little secret," quipped Russ Royer, bassist and lead pessimist, "I'm just pretending to play that instrument."

Roguelike is a band, but it is not a band. You know what I mean? There are no official members other than John-Michael.

"The world - and when I say 'the world', I include my friends in that - is just not ready for a Fantasy-Based Hardcore band." says John-Michael, Lead-Everything of Roguelike. "They just can't handle me getting up there on stage and screaming about wizards, dragons, and magical artifacts."

Roguelike has even less songs than it does band members.

"Yeah, well I realize that bands need songs, but I also realize that for a band to exist, it does not necessarily have to have them." quipped John-Michael. "When I say the world and my friends are not ready for Roguelike, I also mean that I am not ready. The idea itself is just too revolutionary."

So until the world, John-Michael's friends, and John-Michael himself are ready, Roguelike will continue to exist only in his imagination.
